Question: Discuss about the Fundamentals of Rentierism and Political Culture. Answer: Introduction: As per the article by Keaney and Rubin (2013), proper development of culture is necessary for fulfilling all the requirements of the public administration department. Specifically, military of different economies have focused on the specific elements for ensuring the security level of the country. The military department of UAE has the responsibility of providing defence services to all seven emirates. Presently, UAE military has over 65,000 of personnel who are focusing on to provide superior quality of security services (Guraiche 2016). For that reason, culture of UAE military is focused on punctuality and cohesion so that all the responsibilities of administration process can be completed in an appropriate manner. Furthermore, UAE military has always focused on the effective development of organizational structure so that powers can be divided in an appropriate manner. Thus, it highlights the fact that power distance index is extremely high for the UAE military culture. On the oth er hand, UAE military considers very limited amount of tolerance level. In fact, it is actually focusing on the effective development of strict rules and regulation for fulfilling all the responsibilities in an appropriate manner. Thus, UAE military culture has very high degree of uncertainty avoidance index. On the other hand, UAE military culture heavily depends on heroism, assertiveness or material rewards for enhancing the securing level of the community. Thus, it highlights the fact that UAE military is more focused towards masculinity approach (Saldaa Martn 2014). It also highlights the fact that all the members of UAE military are willing to give their all to ensure that the security level of the country remains intact. On the other hand, UAE military is more focused towards the development of long-term orientation so that the culture of the organization remains constant for long period of time. Symbols that strengthen culture of the organization: Over the past few decades, UAE military has made conscious focus on enhancing the cultural value of the organization so that all the administrative responsibilities can be fulfilled in an appropriate manner. For that reason, UAE military has tried to maintain transparency and openness at the time of implementing any strategies for effective utilization of operational process. It has allowed employees in the UAE military to understand their roles and responsibilities in an appropriate manner. Thus, it has helped to develop a healthy working culture where each member of the team has strong emotional bonding with other members. On the other hand, all new members of UAE military are provided with effective training and development facilities so that they can able to understand the cultural value ethics in an effective manner (Qubaisi et al. 2015). In addition, UAE military also has focused on effective utilization of unstructured communicational networks so that senior leaders in UAE mil itary can able to understand any type of difficulties that junior members of the organizations are facing in recent time. Thus, it has helped the organization to maintain a healthy working culture where all members of the organization are focused towards providing effective defence services to the people living in the UAE economy.
